TAXI DRIVERS is a road trip through the geography of powerlessness. We examine the glorification of violence and the delicate balance between vigilance and activism.
In TAXI DRIVERS, you meet up with four other passengers (audiences) at a particular address where you are being picked up by a driver. The driver invites you into his car and takes you to places in the city that only a few have seen.
The driver will show you the injustice and the authorities’ lack of response to this obvious unfairness. He will talk about his powerlessness and the feeling of meaninglessness. He wants to act – he just doesn’t know how. Yet.

REVIEWS AND COVERAGE
“We like to think that it is others who are radicalized. Tue Biering was reminded of this when he scared his girlfriend with the idea of a gun cabinet in the bedroom. Now the award-winning director wants to show how fragile we all may be with the performance “Taxi Drivers” ”
Interview at Børsen
“Taxi Drivers has become a more insightful social analysis than most expensive TV documentaries.” – Kulturkupeen
★★★★★★
“This is not a performance where you can sit back and enjoy the show – because we were part of it, and the shadowy sides of Aalborg and Nørresundby formed the backdrop. Taxi Drivers – Aalborg is a bold innovation! Do you dare take the ride?” – Kulturinformation
★★★★★★
“Taxi Drivers is intelligent, provocative, and furiously necessary. And although it’s uncomfortable theatre set in a taxi, it’s worthy of a Reumert.” – Sceneblog
★★★★★☆
“In this crash test of a performance, the concept is pushed all the way to its limits – the audience is the performance.” – NORDJYSKE
★★★★★☆
“It’s a kind of therapy – learning to know yourself better while being trapped inside a taxi, exposed to whatever unfolds. There’s no way of knowing how it will end. The performance and the experience may change from one encounter to the next.” – Kulturen.nu
★★★★★☆
“It’s our bodies and minds that are at stake in this highly significant form of political theatre.” – iScene
★★★★☆☆
“Taxi Drivers is a surprising and provocative little spark of contemporary theatre with a big message.” – Magasinet KBH

AUDIENCE TESTIMONIALS
“Right now I feel animated, inspired, and uplifted. I want to make a difference, but at the same time I don’t know how. Thanks for an amazing experience and very relevant work of theatre.”
“It’s crazy what happens when the frame of the experience changes and you’re placed together with strangers. I felt afraid, indignant, and a bit resistant.”
“There are so many thoughts about what’s okay and what’s not, and about what feels right. We must never forget the conversations.”
“I’m not angry, but I’m ready to engage in conversations about how our society works, whether we treat everyone equally, and what kind of politicians we should be voting for. Thank you.”
