Two people collide in a struggle for position, dignity, and resources. Over who gets to choose first and who stands above the other. Who has the right to speak, and when words run out and the body is left to shout the language of violence. Locked in a wrestling hold of friendship and love, they repeatedly attempt to meet as equals, yet there is always one who is just a little more than the other.
PAS DE DIEU is a duet of invitations and rejections, where two people merge only to be pushed apart again. We observe with wonder and admiration how two men relate to one another in a world where they have only each other. A world in which friendship, love, violence, and sex are given free rein to unfold through words and movement, in a constant interplay between brutality and tenderness, egoism and care. A world where two people are confronted with their inherent divinity and their inevitable mortality.
